Excerpt from BATHSHEBA PROVERBS
Unaware of his surroundings he stumbled into an unfamiliar section of the castle. It wasn’t one of his usual areas where he conducted business. It overlooked the town below and gave an expansive view of the desert in the distance. A sense of relief flooded his soul and nostalgia wrapped itself around him like a warm blanket. The days of him as a shepherd boy came flooding back as though it was only yesterday he tended his father’s sheep. Only if life was simple again...just him, the sheep and the desert.
He closed his eyes. Back then as a shepherd, he dreamt of kings and glory, now as a king, he caught himself dreaming of being a shepherd again. So lost in his thoughts of the past that he hardly noticed the servant girl setting up a bath for her mistress. So captured by a feeling of bliss that he failed to see the wife being helped out of her clothes. By the time, the past faded and King David opened his eyes, what he saw was mesmerizing...a woman! A beautiful, naked woman blissfully splashing in the bath.
